Pack 142 Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are what make Pack 142 successful.  From the Cubmaster down to the parents that help out at the Den meetings, volunteers are what make us great. We can always use you help. If each parent signed up to help with one event each year it would be a HUGE help.

2010 Fishing Derby
When: July 31,2010
Where: New Fairfield Town Park
Time: 8:00 AM - 10:00 AM

This is a Pack sponsored event and a great time for all. Come and fish at the Town Beach before it opens and try to land the "big one." Various prizes will be awarded as well as attendees being able to earn the fishing belt loop and pin.

Anyone who wants to fish should your own fishing gear and bait (worms or corn). The event is open to the whole family.

A long, long time ago, even before your mom or dad were born, there were Cub Scouts just like you who enjoyed the outdoors and camping and hiking and biking and earning all sorts of Scouting badges.

Things were different back then because there were no TVs, CDs, DVDs, battery operated toys (you had to wind them up), skateboards or snowboards or shoes with little wheels in the heels, cell phones, email and lots of other stuff.  But, boy oh boy, did Scouts have fun.  And what they had fun with then has a lot to do with what you have fun with today.

This year at Camp Sequassen's Cub Scout/Webelos Scout Resident Camp we're going to look back a hundred years to get a vision of what's ahead.  For instance: Ever hear of a "cat's whisker?"  It took a long time but cat whiskers led to iPODs.  And in another hundred years iPODs are going to lead to . . . (to be continued at Camp Sequassen).  Hope to see you there.
